These are beautiful pictures of flowers close up!
Beautiful! These grow wild! How nice!
I must grow some this season! :)NG
Great close up photos of the bleeding heart. What kind of camera are you using to take these extreme close ups?
Thank you all! Bleeding heart do grow wild here in Oregon and Washington... I sometimes have to pull them up when they get to crazy (I hate doing it, though).
Ki, I use an extremely basic Nikon Coolpix 4600 point and shoot with a macro setting. I would love to have a more powerful lens (mine's only a 3x zoom), but I'm pleased with this one. Plus it's small enough to fit in my pocket when I go out walking!
Amazing photo again. You reminded me that if i visit a garden centre soon I want one of the red flowering bleeding hearts.Your close ups are great for catching detail, and the beauty of the flower!:)
What a picture! I remember when we lived in WA State seeing them while walking...also foxglove...many beautiful things out there!
Freaking AMAZING photo!
I miss my home in WA!
Thank you, Snappy! I'd like to have a red one as well -- what grows wild here are mostly the pink ones which are pretty, but I think the red ones would be even better.
Thanks for your kind words, Gotta Garden. Check back, I know I'll have lots of foxglove pictures coming right up. The foxglove growing wild along the highway are one of the things I remember as so exotic when I visited Oregon as a child. So beautiful!
Thanks Kasmira! What part of WA did you live in?
I've been trying to figure out what I've got growing in my garden, and I think it might be what you've photographed here. I thought it was a weed at first (and a hearty one--I couldn't pull it up, and the fluid inside turned my hands orange), but then it started to flower, and those blossoms are pretty distinct. They are quite tiny on the plant in question, though. I will take a pic and post. Hope you are still out there...it's been a year since you posted your original image.
