This is the first daffodil of the year in our yard. I've seen them coming up in other places around town as much as a week or two earlier, but we're facing north and everything seems to take just a little bit longer. Although in some instances, the wait is totally worth it!

Wow, that is amazing colour.Was it sunny when you photographed the daffodil?I love their cheery flowers blowing in the wind.I think of them as messengers for a changing season!

It was taken on a beautiful sunny afternoon which was even more beautiful because it was rainy the day before and rainy the day after. This particular daffodil is in the shade -- I got lucky with the light on the flower and the dark background.
