Wisterious

This wisteria isn't in my yard, but I walk by it almost every day. Before it starts blooming it doesn't look like much -- mostly just thick old vines pulling the support up out of the ground. But once it starts blooming...

It's beautiful and smells good too!

I think the flowers look similar to sweet peas.

This one is such a great specimin! and it smells great too. I don't have any wisteria because they take up a lot of room and really only bloom for a short time, but when they are blooming... gorgeous!

Wonderful photos Jen! If only Wisteria lasted.

Hey thanks for the link BTW, I don't know how, but I didn't link back until tonight. I've been working on trying to build the next "daves garden" but with great photography in mind.

What do they smell like?I have heard the name before but never seen it flowering or smelt its flowers.I love the pale blue and white flowers. The vines look good too.Its amazing the flowers appear from quite plain vines.

Thanks, Dave! I had grand plans for doing a lot of writing for this blog originally, but decided that photos alone were better than nothing.

Snappy, they smell light and sweet... kind of like a sweet pea, but not one of the spicy ones. (at least this wisteria.) they're really lovely, but they have a very short blooming season.
